Interest in volunteering?
Volunteering is beneficial
Needless to say, volunteering is beneficial to both a community and the volunteer.
The volunteering highlighted on eastbayvolunteer.org is volunteering at community service events. What’s so great about these events and their volunteer opportunities is that they do not necessarily require you to have special skills or make an ongoing commitment.
You peruse the list of events on this site, select an event of interest, RSVP your attendance, show up and help out, make new friends and have some fun. That’s it! One day at a time.
Additional listings of volunteer opportunities at City of Oakland websites
The City of Oakland has additional listings of volunteer opportunities. Please visit these site and sign up to volunteer.

Volunteering at nonprofits
A lot of other volunteer websites can match you to specific nonprofit organizations and/or causes. That is great as well. Nonprofit organizations have to look for volunteers to get their things done. Go and check them out. There is much opportunity with them as well.

Sometimes nonprofits need a special skill or two in a volunteer. Can you cook? Can you drive a van? Do you have the clout to join our Board of Directors? Can you be with us throughout the year? If you have special skills to offer, you will be much appreciated as well.
